Being the HGTV freak that I am, I know that the first thing I have to do to sell my house is to remain unemotional. Seriously?! I am not unemotional about anything -- and this is very personal to me!  What is that old saying, "A house is made of brick and stone, but a home is made of love alone." Well, at the risk of sounding incredibly corny, this home is definitely made of a lot of love.  We moved into this house in 2000 -- it was a brand new home when we stumbled upon it... the hardwood floors hadn't even been finished.  It was love at first sight, and if life wasn't moving us in a different direction and out of this area, it would be our home for many more years.  I've spent a quarter of my life in this house... and my kids have spent up to half of their lives in this house!  So emotions do run deep.  My hope is that the next owners have as much love in their memories as I do in this house!

The upstairs had this perfect landing for us to add custom bookshelves and cabinets... a perfect spot to hang out and read...and it flows right into the upstairs family area for playing games or watching movies.

The upstairs sunroom is a perfect spot for the exercise equipment because there's a perfect view of the lake.

This room was my middle child's bedroom until a few years ago, when I converted it into my office... this is where I spend a lot of my time working on editing, designing, and just the mundane parts of running a photography business.

Downstairs is just so open... you can see straight from the front door out the windows in the back to the lake.  A true lake house!!

Half-bath for guests on the first floor...

But there's even a bathroom in the laundry room... perfect for days on the lake so no one tracks wet feet across the hardwood floors! (and doesn't everyone need a TV in the laundry room?  Makes ironing so much more enjoyable!)

Easily my favorite room in the house... the downstairs sunroom.  And with the perfect view... right out those windows is a beautiful view of the lake.

This dining room has served so many fun dinners with friends and family... special occasions, holidays... even prom dinners for the kids with their friends & dates!

And with a great love of cooking and baking, the kitchen was designed to be efficient and offer every luxury to make spending time here the most enjoyable possible!  Stainless steele appliances and granite countertops.  There's even a built-in stand-alone ice machine -- perfect for living on the lake!

The Master Bedroom is on the first floor, which offers premium privacy and lots of space.

The screen porch was quickly a favorite when the kids were growing up and had friends over.... it's been a morning hangout to drink coffee and read... and a great place to spend time with friends!  And in North Carolina it can be enjoyed pretty much year 'round!

I hope you've enjoyed a tour around my home!  It has been a pleasure to share it with you!  If you're in the Shelby/Cleveland County/Gaston County/Charlotte area and want the perfect house on the lake... well, this could be it!!
